Spreading the Word: Chinese Parable about Luck

I stumbled upon this short article by a fellow blogger and book lover on Atkins Bookshelf. It tells a story about a Chinese farmer who takes life as it comes, without judgement. His preferred response to all events is “Bad luck, good luck — who really knows?” This reminds me of an ancient Greek story about happiness. I find it fascinating that such old stories travel to us across hundreds, even thousands of years, and still resonate, still carry a meaningful message. Enjoy!

Keeping up the “Spreading the Word” tradition, every weekend, I hope to share an article I’ve read or a video I’ve seen and thought inspiring and insightful. I feel it is essential to take good care both of our physical and mental well-being. Humans have always turned and returned to storytelling to find meaning. My weekends’ “Spreading the Word” posts are an online version of sharing meaningful stories.

keep exploring and storytelling!
