In one week I will resume my studies and one of the courses I am very much looking forward to is philosophy of mind. In this light, it was a timely and pleasant surprise when I came across the following article recently published on Aeon: “The mind does not exist”. A controversial and provocative title, right? Absolutely, just the sort of thing those philosophically inclined among us are interested in reading 🙂 The author, Joe Gough, is a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Sussex in the UK. In the article, he explains his proposed ‘no-mind thesis’. Enjoy! Link to the article: No-mind idea.
Keeping up the “Spreading the Word” tradition, every Friday, I hope to share with you an article I’ve read or a video I’ve seen and considered it to be inspiring or enlightening. I feel it is important to take good care not just of our physical but also of our mental well-being. Humans have always turned and returned to storytelling. My Fridays’ “Spreading the Word” articles are an online version of sharing worthwhile stories.
keep exploring and storytelling!
